We use local drilling and well construction firms as implementing partner. The wells are equipped with "India-type" manual pumps and reach a depth of up to 90 meters. Well construction standards follow state regulations. The water concession is given after testing for the potability of the water
The well lay on a brick and concrete footing higher than the ground. The installation is typical of a rural water well project and includes perimeter walls and a drainage channel to store water in a nearby water trough for the animals.
ABBA has built 5 deep wells in as many villages, and in 6 others it has been possible to repair existing wells.
